The Word of God in ISAIAH 31: 1-3 Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, who rely on horses, who trust in the multitude of their chariots and in the great strength of their horsemen, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel, or seek help from the LORD. Yet he too is wise and can bring disaster; he does not take back his words. He will rise up against that wicked nation, against those who help evildoers. But the Egyptians are mere mortals and not God; their horses are flesh and not spirit. When the LORD stretches out his hand, those who help will stumble, those who are helped will fall; all will perish together. Ο Λόγος του Θεού στον ΗΣΑΪΑ 31: 1-3 Αλίμονο σ’ όσους πηγαίνουνε στην Αίγυπτο για να γυρέψουνε βοήθεια! Βασίζονται στ’ άλογα, ελπίζουνε στις άμαξες τις πολυάριθμες και στους ιππείς με την πολλή τη δύναμη και δεν ελπίζουνε στον Άγιο Θεό του Ισραήλ, δε γυρεύουνε συμβουλή από τον Κύριο. The Word of God in ISAIAH 30: 18-22 Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him! People of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. How gracious he will be when you cry for help! As soon as he hears, he will answer you. Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” Then you will desecrate your idols overlaid with silver and your images covered with gold; you will throw them away like a menstrual cloth and say to them, “Away with you! ” Ο Λόγος του Θεού στον ΗΣΑΪΑ 30: 18-22 ”Και μολαυτά ο Κύριος προσμένει να σας σπλαχνιστεί· είν’ έτοιμος να σηκωθεί και να σας ελεήσει, γιατί ο Κύριος είναι Θεός δικαιοσύνης· μακάριοι όσοι τον εμπιστεύονται. The Word of God in ISAIAH 30: 15-16 This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it. You said, ‘No, we will flee on horses.’ Therefore you will flee! You said, ‘We will ride off on swift horses.’ Therefore your pursuers will be swift! Σήμερα είναι η δεύτερη μέρα από τις τρεις που προσευχόμαστε και νηστεύουμε σαν εκκλησιαστική οικογένεια. Νηστέψατε όπως ο κύριος σας οδηγεί αλλά η δώστε χρόνο και στην προσευχή. Ο κύριος θέλει να μας μιλήσει καθώς εμείς τον ακούμε. Παρακαλώ ελάτε απόψε στις 7:00 Μ.Μ για να Τον λατρέψουνε . Παρακάλω ενημερώστε μας αν προσεύχεστε μια συγκεκριμένη ώρα στη διάρκεια αυτών των τριών ημερών. Ο στόχος μας είναι να καλύψουμε αυτές τις τρεις μέρες με προσευχή.

As Church Family, this is Day 2 of 3 days of prayer and fasting. Choose to fast as the Lord leads you but be sure to spend time in prayer. The Lord wants to speak to us as we listen to him. Please come tonight at 7 PM to worship him this Holy Week. Please let us know if you are praying at specific times during these 3 days. The aim is to have 3 days of prayer covering.

In 2022 my Facebook account was hacked and some ho

In 2022 my Facebook account was hacked and some horrendous things were posted in my name in the very few moments before Facebook, thankfully, closed it down. Ever since then, I have been acutely aware of the possibility of impersonation, and the damage that could come with it. With the increase in AI usage, I personally believe that this is becoming a very real danger.

Several days ago I posted some pictures as a social experiment. A common app was able to put my face on other bodies (although better looking versions of the face, much better bodies, and without the gray hairs.). I got the idea from some online friends DEFINITELY using something similar! :-)

I wanted to see how many people who actually know me (not just the average “friend” on Facebook or IG) would call me out on it or at least recognize the “modified” image. Would people really buy it? Would they see and/or say, That’s not you?
A few did.

Of course, many are just too polite to say something. But would people who are very familiar with me accept, or commend, the fake? Twas my question.

I appreciate all of the responses, but I come away even more aware that “deep fakes” could be an imminent threat. In the near future- much more than ever before- we will have to deal with photos, videos, writings, postings, etc., that will have no relation to their perceived origins, to their seeming “creators”. And in today’s world, we are all guilty until we can, maybe and hopefully in time, prove ourselves innocent.

If it is digital, DO NOT take it at face value. It’s just too easy to create deceit.

The talk from our pastor today was “living in the age of facts that can be easily altered.” Opinions that are believed to be facts. Truth is relevant. But our example is Jesus who is absolute, eternal Truth riding into Jerusalem and being Truth no matter the pressure of public opinion.

Pilate asked “what is truth?”
It’s not your truth nor mine. There is only one truth for always. There is a cost to follow that Truth. The Truth that holds
The real picture, not an adjusted one. Be aware. Be discerning. Be a Truth-seeker and a Truth-follower! #gcctogether
