Red Letter Series – Jesus, the Light that FOREVER overcomes darkness!
- The Word was God and took flesh and dwelled among us.
- This is the most basic of Christian doctrine but is not simple. Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man.
- Everything we believe about Jesus depends on this - that Jesus Christ is the God-man.
- Jesus is the Light and is the life in this world and into eternity.
- There is no darkness that will ultimately prevail over the Light.
- Whatever comes against you will not overcome the Light.
- The darkness will never overcome the Light, but we're commanded to put that Light to work in our lives. Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness does not trap you.
- Jesus came into a dark world and is the Light of the world. We know what the darkness is - it's evil, and the existence of death and judgement and unbelief. People do evil things, that's why they prefer the darkness, and they reject the Light.
- If you come to Jesus, He draws you out of the darkness and you join the family of the Light. Live in the light so that you may become children of the Light.
- When you believe in Jesus you enter into the full communion. Once you were in darkness but now you are the Light in the Lord. You were not made for the darkness. You were made in the image of God.
- Think about all the difficulties you may be facing today - none of them will triumph over the Light.
- Remember who you serve, who He is, who you are in Him.
- Be of good cheer. This is the practical point; the Light cannot be overcome by the darkness because the Light is alive, it's Jesus.
- Go on the offense in your life. Too many believers are living in the defense. We do not have to defend Jesus.
- Raid the darkness; take your ground through living in the Light.
