Gifted with the Stewardship of Time

Passage: John 13:34,35; Genesis 1; Ephesians 5:15-17; Psalms 23;
Service Type:

Eric from the Praying Pelicans
1. Hey everyone, good morning. Good morning to everyone. We welcome the Pelican group and all our guests today. I know we have new people here. So, welcome to you. And welcome to all of you that call Glyfada Christian Center your home.
2. My name is Eric and we’re so happy that you’re here this morning.
Pastor Gail
3. I do want to tell you all, Eric has been recently in a very closed, dangerous country. So, we’re very honored in this local church, to have Anton to pray from his spirit, because he’s been praying for all these people who are in grave danger.
Eric from the Praying Pelicans
4. I’ll open us up in prayer this morning. Father in heaven, thank you that you’re an amazing God. And you are here with us. And you are with us, in the worship time, in the preaching, in the fellowship. Help us to glorify your name this morning. Because Jesus, you are the only one who is worthy. And we pray this all in your holy name. Amen.

Pastor Gail
5. Our time belongs to God. Would you stand with me and let’s worship Him together. Amen. Praise God. Praise Him.
6. We live in a most amazing time, where God is doing great things. I just returned from Rome, where I was invited to represent Greece at the Apostolic Prophetic Council for Europe. And while we were there, we actually prayed at the Vatican and at the Parliament buildings. And if you don’t know, if you have not heard, because people have been praying for the Catholic Church, and the new pope, has declared, Mary is not the Redeemer with Jesus. It is Jesus Christ alone. He is our Redeemer.
7. Amen. I think that’s worth praising the Lord for, don’t you? God is at work. Hallelujah. Amen. Praise God. So, we pray for the Greek Orthodox Church. God is at work. Amen. And the way I read the Bible, and I think you do too, there are angels in the throne room, praising God so much that the throne room literally shakes. Hallelujah. So, if angels can do it, maybe we should too. Amen. Glyfada, let’s praise Him. Amen. Hallelujah.
8. Amen. You look so good. I hope I get to greet every Praying Pelican. I may not remember your name, but I sure want to say hello. And we are thrilled that you are here. Amen. The Word of God, we just really believe that everywhere, when people who pray place their feet, they are taking that territory for the Lord. Amen. Yes. Amen. And Greece needs Jesus. Amen.
9. They will be with us on Tuesday and if you would like to come help, they are going to be painting and help getting ready for Christmas. Praise God. Thank you. Alright, we can clap our hands. Bravo. We are glad you are here. We need you. So, Glyfadiotises, (Glyfada’s ladies) if you want to help, we would love you to come whenever you can. Tuesday. What time are we starting in the morning? 10. Alright, 10 a.m. Are you sure it’s not 7 in the morning, Lord? 10 in the morning. Alright, praise God. We love you, Lord. We love you, Lord. We are going to stop here for a second.
10. Trudy, those of you that know Trudy, she is ministering on the island of Kefalonia. There is a young man there that has become very violent for quite a while now in the home. He actually pretty much goes out of his mind. The mother is afraid, the grandmother is afraid, there is a lot of fear because he is so violent. But we know that we can pray in the name of Jesus and we can agree with them there in Kefalonia today that the Lord will calm that mind and free that spirit. Do you believe in the name of Jesus? His name is all-powerful.
11. His name is Christopher. Let’s call on the Lord right now. We speak the name of Jesus over the mind of Christopher right now. We declare Jesus, you are all-powerful. Lord, we believe we will hear the report of the Lord that Christopher has calmed down, that there is peace in the home, that the fear leaves in the name of the Lord. Father, we know who you are. You are the Lord that is all-powerful. We declare Jesus; Jesus, rule over that life today. We lift you up, Lord. Hallelujah. There is power in your name. There is healing in your name. There is freedom in your name. Break the stronghold in his mind. In the name of Jesus.
12. If you’re here today and you need prayer for physical healing, would you just raise your hand wherever you’re at in the room. Thank you. Let’s raise them up. Amen. Physical healing, we believe today. Just look around and we see those. Hallelujah. Sunil, how is Fernando? He’s okay. And you? You’re getting better, yes? We believe Sunil is going to come in soon and say the cancer is completely gone. Amen. We believe. We believe. Fernando will say I’m completely healed. Amen. I praise the Lord even though the report is not great yet, they keep coming. Amen. Praise God. Amen. In our presence together, we agree together. Amen. God can do anything. Can he do anything? Do you believe it? Yes. Amen.
13. Let’s pray. Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus, for every hand that was raised for healing, Lord, right now we pray for healing right now. Your name is, one of your names is, I am the God that heals you. I am the God that heals you (Jehovah Rafa). Father, today we declare your name over Sunil and Fernando and, oh God, Laura and Najish and Lord, everyone in this room and over, hallelujah, Vassily, Lord, each person that raised their hand today, God, we believe for healing, God. There is no limit to what you can do, God. Father, we give you glory. Your name. Amen. Amen. Praise God. Hallelujah.
14. You may be seated. It’s so good. Praise the Lord. Today, we’re going to pray for Ylanga. Amen. This is her last Sunday with us for a while. She’s been such a blessing. Amen. So, Ylanga, if you want to come forward, Amen. We’re going to pray that you’re coming back next year. Yes. Yes. Amen. Isn’t she beautiful? Yes. Yes. Amen. We love you so much. Amen. Is there anything you want to say? I said the love is mutual. Amen. I like that.
15. Okay, so if we could have Leto and a few of the leaders, if you could come up and we’re just going to lay hands on Ylanga and I’m going to ask all of you just to reach your hands towards her. Amen. We want to pray an anointing on her as she leaves for all the blessings of the Lord. Amen. And if that’s the will of the Lord, we want her back. Amen. Hallelujah, Lord God. We glorify You and we praise You and we glorify You because we had the privilege to meet such a sister, to be here with her and to worship God with her, Lord God, and to glorify You united. Lord, bless her steps. Bless her where she goes. And Lord, we ask You to bring her back to us again. Bring her back to us, Lord. We ask You that in the name of Jesus. Amen.
16. Hallelujah. Praise God. And she brought a cake today for coffee time. Yay! To just celebrate her time with us to bless the church and to celebrate her time with us. Make sure I get a piece. Thank you. Thank you. Praise God.
17. What a great day to be here today. And then, from the Praying Pelicans, we have two people that are going to share a little bit with us this morning. I don’t think that I got to meet you yet. Christopher and Nora. We are so glad you are here.

Nora from the Praying Pelicans
18. We are from a school that is a Christian school. And we are really excited to be here. And we are excited to see what God has prepared for us here.

Christopher from the Praying Pelicans
19. My name is Christopher. I would like to thank you all for welcoming us here to a new place for us that you have received us. I am excited that I am here with you to worship God together.

Pastor Gail
20. All of you from the team, look how many of you are here. All together, we bless you in the name of the Lord. And we pray and we believe that your lives will be changed because you walk with the full heart. And you have come to bless this place. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Hallelujah! A great and beautiful team is here with us today.
Anton and Leto – Reading the Word
21. We will read from the Gospel of John 13:34,35. “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
22. Let us pray. Thank you, Lord Jesus, that you came as an example for us. That the Father sent you to show us the way to Him and to become the way to Him. But Lord Jesus, you also showed us what love is. That you laid down your life for this world, for each one of us, for me, for each one of us, Lord. So that we can become part of your family. You showed us the greatest love ever. And when I think about my love, it falls so much short of what you showed us. Therefore, we pray Lord, that you will give us more love. Love for you, love for the Father, love for one another. Let us truly be your disciples by the love that we have for one another. And give us the strength to go into this world, to love the people of this world. Because you love them. Lord, we pray that you will be with us for the rest of this morning. Thank you that we can be together. That we can be your church, your bride, your beautiful bride. Thank you, Lord, that we can worship you. That you invite us into your presence. And Lord as we are going to listen to your word, we pray Lord that you will speak to us this morning. Lord, we pray that we will hear the words. That we will listen carefully. That it will become part of our lives. And that we will live out this word. Lord your word is true. And we will pray that we will live out this truth of your word. Thank you for your grace, Lord Jesus. Thank you for your love, Father. And thank you Holy Spirit that you are with us. We pray it all in the name of Jesus. The only one that is worthy to intercede for us. Amen.

Pastor Gail – Announcements
23. Amen. Praise God. We have some announcements this morning. Besides the Pelicans, I do think we have an announcement. Michael and Katha, how far did you have to drive to come to church today? 40 kilometers. How long did it take you today? 50 minutes. Oh good, that’s better than I thought. We are so happy Michael and Katha have moved all the way to Drosia. If you don’t know it, because it’s close to where their ministry is. They have moved. Our sister Michael, Katherin’s husband, and the kids have moved to Drosia. A great distance. So, it’s good to see you.
24. Ole, Ole and Heydi. We are glad you are with us today. I feel like we need to recognize where there is blessing and honor. We are thrilled that you came all that way today. And the Pelicans, you came really far. We are really glad you are here.
25. We want to share a few announcements. Next Sunday is the first Sunday of Advent. We are really excited about that. We hope you will be with us. And of course, there is also next Sunday, it is not American Thanksgiving, so some of you may not know, but you can ask me about it. No, it’s just Thanksgiving lunch next Sunday. It’s going to be wonderful. We still will have turkey. We are looking forward to next Sunday’s lunch.
26. We will have a special guest next week also to be ministering to us. She is from Australia. She has worked, that I know of, at least 25 years in the Muslim world. So, it’s going to be wonderful to have Cathy Hine with us next week. You don’t want to miss it.
27. And you don’t want to miss the lunch. And please pay attention to the WhatsApp group and the Facebook page. We will be putting the announcements for all of December on there.
28. This will be on the bulletin board. This is Sahar and Arnold. They are having a bazaar. Lots of places are having bazaars. So, on December 7th we will be having a small sale here in the church of some of the ministries where they serve, like Sarah with Petaluda, Creative Hands. All of those ministries, they will be bringing things, if you’d like to buy Christmas gifts. Henneke, you know all of the ministries, if you have that have and can sell things will be here. Listen, in the West, all of us have more than we need.
29. Instead of buying more shoes or another sweater or more earrings, buy something from one of these ministries that will really help support those things. So, we will be talking more about that. The year is almost over and we just want the Lord to be glorified in all we do.
30. So, we are going to pray now in a moment for the tithe and offering. We just really want to bless Elpida and Najish who will be doing children’s ministries today. We have lost Ole. He is here somewhere. Crying under the seats. I knew it. Anastasia is here. Is Daniel here today? We are thankful for our children. But we are glad for our children.
31. Heydi and Ole we are praying for you. We are praying for all of our children. Hi Daniel, there he is. We see you back there. Would you pray with Stavros and I as we pray for the children and for our offering today. Father, we thank you for the children, we get to share your love with them. We pray today for Elpida and Agis as they minister Lord, that they will sow seed in the heart of these children and we pray for our tithe and offering today, Lord. It is a privilege to give you, out of the joy of our heart because you are so good to us Father. You are so good. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
32. We dismiss our children now and we are going to receive our tithe and offering. Benjamin it is good to see you today. As Benjamin is coming forward, we prayed a little. I love that he is here today to represent our young men. We are praying that the Lord, you know Michael has moved so far away it is too hard for him to be able to be here through the week to minister to the young men. But we are getting ready, I believe to launch a new team to minister to the youth. I am thankful for Rina and Elpida and Eleni and several of you we are thankful for that we believe God is going to do a new thing among our youth.
33. Praise God. Praise the Lord. Thank you. Praise God. Let’s sing one more song.

Pastor Gail – Main Message
1. Praise the Lord. The word today is, ‘being gifted with a stewardship of time’. In Revelation it says, we were created to give him glory. Sometimes people don’t know why they were created. I can tell you one thing today, and the main thing is to give him glory. What a beautiful thing to do with our life. To give the Lord his glory in the time we have here.
2. This is a difficult sermon for me because I disobey this. So often, I just want to do everything for God. So, sometimes I forget to ask him. And I have a tendency to say yes to everything. And I wonder sometimes why I’m tired. And it’s because, you know, I should ask him first. Because I know this and I want you to know it. That time is a gift from God. It is a gift from God. And we need to more and more as his children, if we’re going to steward or manage our time, and do it wisely for his glory, we need to ask him, ‘Is this what you want me to do?’
3. I’m going to stop here. Are some of you cold? Some people were hot; some people were cold. We tried to find the middle ground. So, we’re going to fix it. We want you to be comfortable.
4. I think it’s always good when we talk about time. to remember Genesis 1. We all know what happened to Genesis 1. Feel free to go there if you haven’t ever read Genesis 1. Today is a good day to do it. “In the beginning”, and that very word lets us know time started. In the beginning, what happened? God created everything. He created the earth, the sea, the sky, the animals, everything, you and I, humans. He created time. And he appointed mankind or humanity to be stewards or to manage, take care of his creation.
5. So, we don’t even have to move beyond the beginning of Genesis, to understand that everything, including our time, belongs to God. I am so thankful he gave me time on earth. I get to live for him and give him glory. So, it would mean while I’m here, all my talents, my resources, everything I have, should be used for God’s glory.
6. Did you know every one of us have the same amount of time every day? It’s true. Turn to somebody and say, you have 24 hours like I do. Did you know that? Sometimes I think I have 48 hours inside 24. But we all have exactly 24 hours every day.
7. And somebody’s having problems with their phone. And that’s all right. So, God knows why each one of us is here on earth. I love that. If he caused you to be born, it’s for a purpose. Hallelujah, that telephone. Praise God. He knows why each one of us is here.
8. We’re going to read from Ephesians 5:15-17. Brian, can you put that up for us? I think that’s the next slide. Ephesians 5 says, “Be very careful, this is a commandment, be very careful than how you live. Not as unwise, but as wise, making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”
9. If we read no other Scripture, just this one alone, it is a call from the voice of God, for us to be very intentional, how we spend our time so that it aligns with the purposes of God. I think of all you Praying Pelicans and you’re in high school. Are you all like 12th graders? I remember when I was your age. My heart’s desire was to be a missionary. So, I went to Nicaragua, my very first mission trip. I was going to stay. They told me, no, you’ve got to go finish school. The Lord calls you even now, but you need to be intentional about the will of God for your life.
10. Look what it says, “The days are evil”. I think every one of us could say it is getting darker; therefore, we should be brighter. Amen. And the will of the Lord is for us to shine in very dark places. So, I’m going to talk just really quickly about 5 key areas where we should shine and not be foolish to obey the purposes of God.
11. The first one would be, ‘With God’. We should spend our time with God above everything. Family would be number two. Family does not come above God. I know not everybody likes that, but your family is it before God. When you put God first, then your family, the Lord will bless your family, even when it’s difficult.
12. How about at work? That would be another key area where we should steward our time, be a blessing of God at our work. And in leisure? You’re not taking time off from God. I always think it’s interesting when people go on vacation and they leave God at home in the Bible, on the shelf with dust by the time they get back home. You don’t leave God at home. He goes with you, amen.
13. And then in waste, and we’ll talk about that. We must not waste any of the precious time God has given us. I think Jesus is our ultimate example of the stewardship of time. I tried to imagine what it would have been like to be one of the disciples, and Mary and Martha, Peter. And I tried to think about what his day might have looked like.
14. And when I read the Bible, and I think you’ll say the same thing, despite the constant demands on his time, people pulling at the hem of his garment, people asking for many things, I never read that Jesus was rushed or overwhelmed. I never read that. He understood his mission. He owned it. Even while he was pouring time into others. And he even recognized his human limitations. One of his names was Son of Man. Sometimes he just had to get away.
15. To make the most of our time for the glory of God, we must first know our mission, which is rooted in the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. Now I’m going to ask, do you all know what the Great Commandment is? If you do, just shout it out. I don’t care. Shout it all together. What is it? What is it? Oh, that sounds good. Louder, louder. What is it? I don’t really like what you want. That should love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength, and what else? But, yes, and love your neighbor as yourself.
16. I love you. I love you too. And what is the great commission? Helen lives it. Sarah lives it.
17. Auntie lives it. What is it? That’s pretty good. Do you know what it says in the scripture? Anton scream it. Amen. Go ye, we’ll just cut it short. Henneke knows it too.
18. Henneke, you could do it in Dutch or Irish. Go you into all the world. And Turkish. Oh, can you say it really loud in Turkish? Yeah, the commission, go you into the world. Can we hear it in Turkish? Yes, hallelujah. Oh, praise God. That sounds beautiful. Amen. What an example of going into all the world today.
19. So, what we do with our time should be rooted in these 2 things. Because guess what? We all live on mission. Amen. We are on mission. Say I’m on mission. I am living it out today. But guess what? None of us are God. So, we all have limits. So even as Jesus took time, for solitude, and prayer, we should too. We should too.
20. I think this is so important today because our theme is this is the year of prayer. But really that should be the theme of our life. Lord, you be first. I want to spend time with you. And the more we learn to spend time with Him and pray, the more we will invest in the lives of other people.
21. We need to commit to be good stewards of time, talents and the treasures God has entrusted us. They’re not yours. He’s entrusted you with them. Always seeking to glorify Him. Do you know what some of the treasures are that you have?
22. I was thinking today, I wanted to share one that I have to help you know. I have a very big voice. A very big voice. I have a very big voice. And when there’s been times we’ve gone out and ministered on the streets, we couldn’t find anywhere to plug in the microphone. ‘Guess what Jesus loves you. We’re here to tell you today. Jesus saves.’ And believe it or not, that’s a treasure. And the Lord knows when He wants it to be used. Amen.
23. We were in Monastiraki. And somebody said, I wish we could share Jesus with these people. And God said, use your voice. And all I did, I stood up, ‘Jesus loves you.’ And they thought people would throw stuff at me. Anton was there. There was a group of Swedish students there. And they started yelling out. ‘Yes, Jesus loves you.’ The treasure of God flowed out into Monastiraki.
24. Can you think of a treasure you have? Sometimes we think it’s only those little things, pastor, evangelist, teacher, but there’s so many treasures in us. Think for a moment. What treasure do you have? Something in you that you never really thought is a special treasure you could use for Jesus. Yeah.
25. Verse 17 of the Scripture we read earlier. It challenges us to live wisely. The days are evil. This means as we learn to spend time with the Lord and talk to Him. He will tell us. That’s not a good thing. Don’t do it. Or this is the will of me for your life. I love the fact that Jesus was never rushed or overwhelmed.
26. If we’re so busy, we do not have time to invest in the lives of others. We’re too busy. And we’re doing things that God hasn’t asked us to do. I’ll just make a confession this morning.
27. I have some neighbors that I started witnessing to during COVID. We prayed together. They saw God answer prayer. And it was easy during lockdown. Because I had nowhere to go and nothing to do but stay home.
28. But now I’m very busy. And the Lord has been telling me or asking. ‘When are you going to go see them again? When are you going to go? And spend time with them again?’ And I feel very convicted from the Lord because I’ve been too busy to invest in eternity, the eternal life in their lives.
29. The reality is, God has made everything and everything is the Lord’s. He decrees. He declares. He appoints humanity. That’s you and I. Who are made in His image to be stewards of this creation, His creation. So that everything we have actually belongs to God. It’s not yours. There’s nothing that exists that is not His. Is that true? There is nothing that exists that is not God’s.
30. We have been placed as stewards over all creation of the earth. It is given to you to give glory to God. And we will be held accountable for what we do for the Lord. Praise the Lord. So, what does it mean to be a steward? Think about this again. We have 24 hours in a day. 168 hours in a week. 365 days in a year. Unless it’s leap year. We all have 60 minutes in an hour and 60 minutes in every second. You do not have more than me and I don’t have more than you.
31. So today, this evening, what are you going to do with 60 minutes? Can you give God 60 minutes? Of course. Oh, did you hear that? I’m going to ask him next week. If we tithed our time, guess what your tithe would be every day.
32. What’s 10% of 24 hours? You’re all quiet, you don’t want to confess, you don’t want to admit. It’s 2 hours and 40 minutes. Wow. Actually, the whole day is his, but what if we purposely begin to say God? Help me to be more conscious of how I live my time for you. Time for prayer, time for being quiet, coming away with him, time for having fun, when I think of Jesus, I’m absolutely sure that he and the disciples told jokes together. They had fun.
33. I could just see him telling me it’s easier for a camel to go through a needle than, you know. And then he laughed after he told that, camel to go through the eye of a needle, can you imagine? But he was with them having fun. They ate together.
34. What if we begin, just, Lord, I’m going to consciously make sure that I at least tithe my time. Don’t make it a law rule. I’m just saying, because some of you never even pray. I’m not talking to Pelicans; you pray all the time. I’m always amazed when people come to me and say, I don’t like praying, it’s boring. I don’t know how to pray.
35. If you don’t, start with five minutes. Five minutes. God, I’m going to give you five minutes today. And if you don’t know what to pray, open up Psalms 23. ‘I thank you, Lord. You are my shepherd. I don’t have any wants because you’re my Lord.’ Just read through it and it’ll take you five minutes, right? But begin by letting him know he’s number one.
36. I’ve known a lot of women with little children that struggle to find time. So, they would go into the bathroom, shut the door and lock it so the kids couldn’t get in. So, they could have a private time because time with him gives us the energy and strength and the purpose and the desire to do his will in these days, in these times in which we live.
37. The question is, how can we make the most of our time for your glory, O God? Jesus is our example. His every word, I believe Jesus was conscious of every word he spoke. That’s difficult for me. Sometimes I just open up and it comes out.
38. But even people like me who are just very outgoing, or people who are not, the more we spend time with him, the more what we say, when it comes out. We’ll bless, even if it’s correction. I think Jesus probably analyzed every action.
39. When I first came, Pelicans you don’t know what this is, but I didn’t know what the ‘na’ was. I noticed my hands turned around; I’m not the other way. I didn’t know what the ‘na’ was. It’s a bad sign in Greek. I’m not going to do it. I saw people doing it when they were driving, and people would cut me off, and I would do the ‘na’.
40. And when I sounded what it meant, it’s bad, really bad. I realized I hadn’t even asked the Lord. I had just given in to my anger in that moment of time. So, I realized I even needed to surrender my gestures, my movements, with my hand, with my face.
41. Did you know you could speak ugliness to somebody just by the way you look in a moment of time? Turn to each other, and bless each other in this moment with a smile. Doesn’t that feel good? It feels so good. Yeah, how about throw a kiss? Even in the time we have, to be more intentional, to be like Jesus. Come here Cielo.
42. I see Jesus in every crowd, ‘Suffer the little children, to come to me, they’re welcome on my lap.’ At any time, the little children, you and I, we’re welcome. In his arms, we need to go there, we need to go there.
43. Being intentional, we have time, to bless, to be Jesus in these days, that are evil, rather than letting the spirit of the world guide our time, or affect our time. To allow his time, to make our time beautiful here. Amen.
44. In his time, in his time, he makes all things beautiful in his time. Lord, please show me every day, as you lead me in your way. That you’ll do just what you say, in your time. 24 hours, in a day, and maybe that’s all we need to do today, is concentrate on today, the 24 hours that we have today.
45. Really, Jesus didn’t have much of a private life. Could you imagine what his life would be in today’s world? I actually kind of wondered if he would carry a phone. I’m not sure. Would he carry an iPad? Would he have an iPhone? Or would he use an Android? And all of us would be angry if it was an Android. Because we’d want to text him from our iPhone, and it wouldn’t work.
46. Would he fly in an airplane? Would he drive through the crazy traffic? Would he take the train? Now this was a big one I thought about. When someone texts him, or email, text or email, listen to this. How fast do you think he would be to answer? You know, we’re in the middle of church. Oh, we got an email. I’m being a text. I got an answer right now while you’re in church. I see some of you. What do you think? Oh, I’ve got to read that message right now.
47. And this is a time for the Lord. First to pull apart from the world. How would he handle all of the relationships in this modern world? What modern technology has made possible for us? Would he be on Facebook with a selfie? And say, hey everybody, read this! Look what I got to do today!
48. Would he make himself fit into the time of the world now? Where what you do can be flashed across the world in seconds. Would he say, oh yeah, I have to make this long because they’ll put it on the nightly news, and the news will be everywhere in the world tomorrow or tonight.
49. I kind of don’t think so. I don’t think so. Because I never see him hurried, or rushed. In Ecclesiastes 3:1. I love this passage so much. It says, “There is a time for every purpose under Heaven”. Sometimes we come to church out of obligation. But the time we spend together, is a time where the beautiful body of Christ glorifies God.
50. The greatest gift a young attorney said I ever received One Christmas my dad gave me this. A small box with a note inside. The note read, ‘Son, this year I give you 365 hours. One hour every day after dinner. We’ll talk about what you want to talk about. We’ll talk about what you want to talk about. We’ll go where you want to go. We’ll play what you want to play.’
51. The young attorney said my dad not only kept the promise of his gift. But he renewed it every year. He said it was the greatest gift I ever had in my life. And he writes, I am a result of that time. Maybe the most appreciated and personal gift we can give. Is the gift of your time.
52. C.S. Lewis wrote in the screw tape letters. He describes how the devil, he can capture us. Not by preventing encounters with God. But by whispering in our ear. You are too busy right now. You’ll get to that soon. You’ll talk to God later. Just not right now. You guys heard the devil whispering your ears.
53. Today. The Lord wants us. To reset our time. We’re all busy. But let us be busy for time that the Lord wants us to spend. Anticipating the gift of time, and the opportunities he will place in our way to give him glory. Because when we stand before him, He’s going to say, ‘I’m pleased. I want to hear him. Don’t you? I’m pleased. Your time, was really my time. Live through you.’ Would you stand?
54. This morning, if you don’t know Jesus, He wants to know you. He wants to give you the gift of time in this life, that will be lived most beautifully, victoriously, powerfully. But I’m not saying you’re not going to have difficulties. Yes. You will have difficulties. But when you give him your time. You will see. The miracles of victories.
55. I’m going to ask you as we sing for just a moment. Can you go down a key on that? I’m going to sing. Can you go down a key? Go down a key. Just go down. If you know this, sing with me. Think about it. Think about it. Actually, this is a very private time this morning. A time of confession. A time of receiving. That’s our time will belong to Him.
