20 day fast

Beginning the Year in His Presence: A Call to 20 Days of Fasting & Prayer

As we step into a new year, we’re reminded that there is no greater way to begin than by turning our hearts toward the One who holds our days, our dreams, and our destinies. At Glyfada Christian Center, we believe that the first fruits of our year belong to the Lord. When we intentionally set aside time to seek Him, we align our hearts and purposes with His perfect will.

This January, we invite you to join us for 20 Days of Fasting and Prayer—a sacred journey of surrender, renewal, and spiritual clarity.

Why We Fast

Fasting is more than abstaining from food or certain habits. It is a posture of the heart—a deliberate choice to quiet the noise, lay aside distractions, and make room for God to speak. Throughout Scripture, we see God respond powerfully when His people humble themselves and seek Him with intention.

Fasting opens the door for transformation. It reminds us that we are sustained not by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.

What We’re Believing For

As a community, we are standing in faith for:

– Fresh encounters with the Holy Spirit

– Breakthrough in personal and family situations

– Restoration in relationships

– Direction for the year ahead

– Greater boldness in sharing the love of Christ

– A deeper love for God’s Word and presence

We believe that as we seek Him first, He will order our steps and establish His plans in our lives.

How You Can Participate

Whether you’ve fasted many times or this is your first experience, you are welcome. Every believer can participate in a way that is meaningful and sustainable. You may choose:

– A Daniel fast

– A partial fast

– A media or social media fast

– A daily prayer commitment

– A combination of these

The goal is not perfection—it is pursuit. What matters most is the posture of your heart.

Each day, we will share a Scripture focus and a short devotional to guide your time with the Lord. We encourage you to journal what God reveals, pray with your family, and stay connected with your church community.

Let’s Begin the Year in Unity and Expectation

There is something powerful about a church that seeks God together. As we step into these 20 days, we do so with anticipation—believing that God will meet us, speak to us, and shape us for the year ahead.

Let’s begin 2026 with hearts surrendered, spirits awakened, and lives aligned with His will. Let’s give Him our first and our best. Let’s seek Him together.

Glyfada Christian Center invites you: Come, fast, pray, and step boldly into the new year with God at the center.
